Not everyone wishes to leave their country and come to America.
Now more than ever I feel so proud of my father for never leaving Cuba. I never fully understood his choice until now. The life of an immigrant is not for everyone, and America was never the right place for him. My father admired America from afar; he wanted to know its neighbors and visit them occasionally, but he would never abandon his birthplace. My favorite line in the memoir I wrote captures this feeling: “This is the land of my birth; I won’t leave, if someone else has to leave is Castro and his followers.” I recommend this memoir to anyone who wants to understand that not everyone wishes to leave their country and come to America.
I recommended The memoir Born Again in America A nation where dreams still come true.
